PLN Asked to Investigate Power Network

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Due to the damage at Suralaya Steam Power Plant , the government asked the state-owned electricity company, PT PLN, to immediately investigate its entire power plant and network. The damage has caused some places in West Java to black out for six hours.

“I ask PLN to examine its system thoroughly,” said Director General of Electricity and Energy, J. Purwono, today. He said the investigation can be in the form of analysis and evaluation of its network. “Do not ignore it just because of limited funding,” he said.

It is targeted to finish the investigation in a few months. Purwono said PLN can invite outsiders like the university to help with the investigation. “However, I am sure PLN can do it itself,” he said.
