Yudhoyono donates Rp3.1 bln to Islamic boarding schools in South Kalimantan

Banjarmasin (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono donated Rp3.1 billion to 52 Islamic boarding schools in South Kalimantan province.

The head of state handed the donation by himself to representatives of the institutions during a post Ramadhan fasting month event at the Sabilal Muhtadin grand mosque here on Thursday night.

The money will be spent on the development of the boarding schools, their healthcare facilities, including a laboratory.

The President on the occasion also appealed to those financially better off, to also think of the less fortunate and poor, by giving them alms, for example.
