LG makes RI audio-video production hub

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT LG Electronics Indonesia (LGEIN) has made the country one of its audio-video production hubs to export 97 percent of its products to Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia.

"Since 1996, we have invested around US$90 million in the audio-video industry in Indonesia," the company`s vice president director, Kim Joo-hyung said here on Thursday.

Every year LGEIN raised its investment in Indonesia by US$10 million to produce new models, purchase equipment and finance other commercial activities, he said.

LGEIN supplied nearly 40 percent of the global demand for audio and videos, he said.

The company now had a capacity of producing 8.5 million audio videos per year and planned to increase its annual production to 9 million starting next year, he said.
