“ … Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013.

They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader ..."

Ades plans to lay off over 1,000 workers

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

The financially troubled mineral water producer PT Ades Waters Indonesia plans to lay off 1,050 employees and close down three of its factories and six of its sales offices under a restructuring program.

In a filing to the Jakarta Stock Exchange, a director of the publicly listed company, Amrit Shrestha, said the consolidation plan would be brought before an extra shareholders meeting on Nov. 23 for approval.

Corporate secretary Thomas Mamria Wisnu Adjie confirmed the plan but he did not elaborate on when the measures would be taken. "We cannot say yet when the dismissals will be effected, and which factories and offices will be closed down," corporate secretary Thomas Maria Wisnu Adjie told The Jakarta Pos on Friday.

The company has set aside some Rp 12.19 billion in compensation for the employees who will be dismissed, Shrestha said as reported by Antara.

According the Ades' latest financial report, the company managed to reduce its net losses by 20.9 percent to Rp 81.22 billion during the January-September period from Rp 98.28 billion during the same period of last year thanks to a slight increase in revenues.

The company earned Rp 102.18 billion in sales revenue in the first nine months of 2007, up 1.26 percent from Rp 100.91 billion in the same period of last year.

Thomas said that the restructuring program would also include improvements in the company's financial structure.

Ades plans to issue rights shares worth Rp 440.8 billion in December to raise fresh funds to repay its debt of about Rp 420 billion to Citibank NA, said Thomas.

Shrestha said that under the restructuring plan, which was aimed at boosting sales and profits, the company would become more focused on the sale of packaged water.

"We will reduce our focus on gallon bottles," he said.(nkn)
