Bungo receives Rp3.21 billion grant from Japan

Muarabungo, Jambi (ANTARA News) - The regional government of Bungo district, Jambi province, has received a grant worth Rp3.21 billion from Japan for agricultural development in the region, a regional official said.

Head of Bungo`s Food Crops and Horticulture Service Harmadji said on Tuesday that the funds provided by Japan would be used to develop the agricultural sector.

Apart from Bungo, there were several other districts in Indonesia which received the Japanese grant. They included Lombok Timor in West Nusa Tenggara, Purworejo and Tegal in Central Java.

"We are the only district in Sumatra which received the Japanese grant. This is something to be pride of by Bungo district," he said.
