Kupang Builds International Hotel

TEMPO Interactive, Kupang:East Nusa Tenggara governor Frans Lebu Raya and the CEO of PT Dwi Pratama Sukses, Jusuf Sawurin, have signed an MoU on the construction of an international four-star hotel in Kupang.

The construction will be carried out by an international hotel network, Best Western, at Lasiana Beach in Kelapa Lima, Kupang City. The hotel will have 200 rooms, a ballroom, and an entertainment center.

Jusuf said the physical construction of the hotel will be done after his office has completed the architectural design. “The design will be finished within two months at the latest. Then we will immediately build the building,” he said.

Best Western selected Kupang because the capital city does not have a hotel with adequate facilities to hold regional events. “There are some three-star hotels here, but they are not internationally-rated,” he said.

Frans said the hotel can also hire local workers therefore it can reduce the number of unemployment in the area. “We will be promoted in 88 countries in Best Western’s network,” he said.
