KFC Indonesia to open 40 outlets this year

JAKARTA: Publicly listed PT Fast Food Indonesia, the franchise holder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) brand in Indonesia, plans to open 40 more outlets this year to take advantage on the growing fast-food market in the country.

The company’s general manager, Gandhi Lee, said in Jakarta on Monday that with the opening of new outlets, Fast Food Indonesia would have a total of 400 KFC outlets by the end of this year.

“With the planned expansion, we hope to be able to increase our sales to Rp 3 trillion [US$333 million] this year,” he was quoted as saying by detik.com. Last year, the company’s total sales totaled Rp 2.45 trillion, with net profits reaching Rp 181.9 billion.

The company, popularly called KFC Indonesia, operates 360 restaurants across the country. — JP
