Vice President Jusuf Kalla discussed solutions to problem flooding during his meeting with the Netherlands Prime Minister Jan Pieter Balkenende on Saturday in Den Haag, The Netherlands tempointeraktif.com reported.
Among those attending the meeting were Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo and Indonesia's ambassador for the Netherlands, JE Habibie.
After the meeting, which lasted for 30 minutes, Kalla said that both he and the prime minister shared their experiences to find the best solution to flooding, a problem in both countries.
"We have learned how the Netherlands solves flood problems and hopefully we can implement such strategies to overcome the same disasters in Indonesia, especially Jakarta," he said.
Both parties, he added, also discussed economic issues with the aim of increasing trade. (ewd)
