The National Education Minister plans to recruit teachers for vocational senior high schools from the military and universities as part of a special program to cater to the demand for vocational teachers in the coming years, a top ministry official said Friday.
Joko Sutrisno, the ministry's director for vocational high schools, said that in the next three years the demand for vocational teachers is projected to reach 217,000, double the current amount.
“There would not be enough provided by the current scheme,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Joko said the ministry would recruit teachers from the military through an educational service program as well as final year university students. (dre)
