Bakrie Telecom to invest US$200 mln in 2009

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Listed Indonesian telecommunications company PT Bakrie Telecom (JSX:BTEL) said it will invest US$200 million next year in building more base transceiver stations (BTS). 

The investment plan is part of US$600 million of the company's capital expenditure to be set aside until 2010, company finance director Jastiro Abi told the newspaper Investor Daily. 

By the end of this year the company hopes to have 7 million subscribers and the number is expected to rise to 14 million by 2010, Jastiro said. The company will utilize vendor financing facility from Huawei Technology, the newspaper Investor Daily said.
