The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has lent Indonesia a loan worth US$350 million (Rp 420 billion) to help the country reforming its economic and financial management from top to regional levels throughout the archipelago.

The bank's director general for Southeast Asia Arjun Thapan said Monday that the second loan was part of the long term program set by the ADB to support the country's reform agenda.

"One of the aims is that the country can improve its public services which can be a benchmark for a good economic condition," he told news wire Antara on Monday.

In 1999, the government started its reformation program in which it gradually reduced its control over all regions and let them to handle the matters by themselves. (ewd)
