“ … Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013.

They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader ..."

Taiwanese firms on the hunt for local partners

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

Twelve information and communications technology (ICT) firms from Taiwan are looking for local agents to sell and distribute their products in Indonesia.

"We have met a number of potential distributors that hopefully will team up with us, besides the one we already have," FSP Technology's sales division officer for Indonesia and India, Eddy Chen, told The Jakarta Post on the sidelines of the Taiwanese company's one-day road show to Jakarta on Wednesday.

FSP Technology has been working with one Indonesian distributor since March, and has earned around US$180,000 from sales since then, said Chen.

Besides FSP Technology, the Taiwanese companies are Can Technology, e-Way Technology System, Formosa 21, Formosoft International, Glacialtech, KYLink Communication, Main Power Electronic Co., Pacific Telecom Co., Shii Fwu Huey and Yaox Edutainment Co.

The Taipei Economic and Trade Office, the organizer of the road show, said in a statement that the Taiwanese delegates were looking for Indonesian agents, wholesalers and importers of their products.

These products included computer hardware and software, components, digital content and communications equipment.

Steve Freiberger, the president of e-Way Technology Systems said that his company was interested in investing in the ICT industry in Indonesia.

"This is our first visit to Indonesia. We have met a number of prospective local distributors," he said.

His company's main product is a mini personal computer that costs around US$200. He said that he saw Indonesia as a market that was more concerned with quality than brand name, thus making it an attractive market for lesser-known brands.

Taiwan is one of Indonesia's biggest investors. From January to September, Taiwanese investments here amounted to $465.3 million. (nkn)
