Jambi to cooperate with JICA to improve river transportation

Jambi, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Jambi provincial transportation office in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is planning to implement a river transportation improvement program, a local official said.

River transportation improvement is one of the priorities in Jambi`s five-year development plan, Darma, the local official, said here on Tuesday.

The Batanghari River stretching 1,400 km long in Jambi is being used to transport people as well as goods such as oil palm and coal, he said.
