Indonesia`s Mandala to spend US$4 bln on 30 Airbus planes

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Mandala Airlines will spend US$4 billion on 30 new Airbus A310 and A320 aircraft over the next 5 years, its chief executive officer Warwick Brady said.

One of the aircraft has already been delivered and three others are to follow before the end of this year, Brady said at the weekend. Chief Commercial Officer Irianda Susilo said the four aircraft to be delivered this year will cost the company US$280 million.

Mandala plans to serve regional routes to Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia, Irianda said.
