Indonesia`s PLN calls for tenders for US$2 bln power project

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Indonesia's state-owned electricity company PLN has called for tenders for a Rp18 trillion (US$2 billion) power transmission project in the Java Bali interconnection.

The project will be financed by the state budget, export credit and foreign loans, PLN Transmission and Distribution director Herman Darnel Ibrahim said.

The transmission system will include extra high voltage airborne cables, high voltage airborne cables and electrical relay stations, he explained.

The company also plans to lay out 1,546 km of new transmission lines and upgrade 133 km of old transmission systems outside Java and Bali.
