BlueScope expanding production capacity in Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Australian-based steel manufacturer PT Blue Scope Steel Indonesia hopes to finish the expansion of its factory by the end of 2009, after a year of delay.

Company President Sulfianda Soelaiman said the company was building an expansion unit of its coated steel factory in Cilegon, Bantan to boost its annual production to 265,00 tons from 135,000 tons at present.

The new production facility is expected to be operational in 2010, Soelaiman added.
