Six firms win solar power tender

JAKARTA (Jakarta Post): the government has named six local companies as the winners of the tender for the procurement of 30,000 units of solar power generators worth Rp 220 billion.

The companies included PT Wijaya Karya, PT LEN, PT Azet, PT Bhaskara, PT Eltran, PT Cipta Sarana, the director general of electricity and energy utilization J Purwono said on Wednesday.

The solar power generators each with a capacity of 50 watt would be installed in houses in remote areas, where there is no electricity access.

Purwono said that the government planned to open another tender for 50,000 units of solar power plants worth Rp 300 billion in March next year
