Malaysia offers 131 projects to Indonesian investors

JAKARTA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia has offered 131 projects to foreign investors in a meeting with Indonesian businessmen in the capital city of Jakarta, Kompas daily reported on Saturday.

"We offer 131 projects to investors, including businessmen from Indonesia. Now, we are more opened to investors to make Malaysia a developed country by 2020 with income per capita of 15,000 U.S. dollars," Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Tan Sri Dato Muhyiddin Yassin said Friday.

The meeting was attended by prominent Indonesian businessmen and officials from the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The projects offered consist of plantation, hospital, infrastructure and retail among others.

According to Chairul Tanjung, chairman of Para Group, a leading business group in Indonesia, investing in Malaysia was difficult in the past.
