Australia rebuilds eight public health centers in W Sumatra

Padang, West Sumatera (ANTARA News) - The Australian Government helped rebuild eight public health centers (Puskesmas) damaged by the 7.9-magnitude quake in the West Sumatra on September 30, 2009.

That eight health centers were in Padang Pariaman district, Australian Charge d`Affaires Paul Robilliard said here on Wednesday.

The eight Puskesmas are located in Dauh Pauh Kampar Sikabu, Padang Alai, Koto Bangko, Batu Basa, Geringging river, Kayu Tanam and Kampung.

He said this assistance was to show the Australian government`s commitment to the long term improvement of health of the Indonesian people especially women and children.

Paul Robilliard was in West Sumatra until September 30, 2010 to inspect the implementation of the Australian government assistance to the province.

Paul will also visit other 39 schools damaged in the earth quake and organize assistance for their repair.
