RI to draft ‘master plan’ for infrastructure cooperation with China

The Jakarta Post | Mon, 04/05/2010 2:57 PM

Indonesia will soon draft a master plan for the cooperation on infrastructure development with China, the details of which will be further discussed during the planned visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to Jakarta later this month.

Indonesia Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Radjasa said here Monday China had allocated more than US$15 billion for its investment in the ASEAN, a significant amount of which would be set aside for Indonesia.

“(China) is paying serious attention to support the development of infrastructure (in Indonesia), especially in the transportation sector,” Hatta told a press conference at the Presidential Palace after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s one-hour meeting with visiting Chinese Trade Minister Chen Deming.

“We will soon prepare for the master plan, and this will be among substances discussed by the President and the Chinese Prime Minister during the latter’s visit to Indonesia,” he added.

According to Hatta, the visit would be done on Apr. 23-24.
