Bukit Asam Announces Contract With Indonesia Power

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: State coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam reported its new contract with PT Indonesia Power a subsidiary of the State Electricity Company to supply coal for the Suralaya coal power plant in Cilegon, West Java.

The one year contract set the coal price at Rp685,000 per ton for coal with 5,000 calories/kilogram. The deal should provide Bukit Asam a total of Rp3.67 trillion until December 31st 2010.

Spokesman for Bukit Asam Achmad Sudarto said in the company's report to the Indonesia Stox Exchange said Bukit Asam will ship a total of 5.5 million tonnes of coal to the Suralaya power plant.

It posted 13.2 million tonnes sales in 2009 and predicted a 20 percent rise this year to 15 million tonnes.
