TEMPO Interactive, Samarinda: Three foreign investors have stated that are interested in building a free way road in East Kalimantan.

The East Kalimantan Governor, Awang Faroek Ishak, stated that RAK, an investor from the United Arab Emirates, has already made itself available to the local government.

The other two interested investors come from India and Malaysia.

One local investor is a consortium of Indonesian entrepreneurs.

“We will decide the best among them,” said Awang in Samarinda, yesterday (2/2).

The free way road will connect five regencies and cities in east Kalimantan.

With a length of 171 kilometers, the road will bridge Balikpapan city, Samarinda city, Bontang city, and Kuta Timur regency.

An additional toll road will also be built in Tenggarong to open access to the Samarinda Baru airport in Samarinda.
