TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government will build an air strip on Miangas Island, Talaud Archipelago, North Sulawesi, in order to make the island less isolated.
This was conveyed by Juwono during a meeting with the House of Representatives’ Defense Commission in Jakarta yesterday.
The air strip is expected to support the logistics and transportation of the Indonesian Armed Forces’ daily operations.
The construction of the air strip was proposed by the Indonesian Armed Forces to the Transportation Department.
The construction is also intended to manage and secure the smaller islands.
