Changhong to invest $11m in Indonesia

JAKARTA: Changhong Group Ltd., one of China's largest consumer electronic manufacturers, plans to expand its business in Indonesia by investing around Rp 130 billion (US$11 million) for the construction of a new plant. 

In a statement on Monday, the company said it would make Indonesia the production base for its Southeast Asia market. 

Changhong entered Indonesia in 1999 by setting up PT Changhong Electronics Indonesia, which has already set up a factory with an annual production capacity of 350,000 television sets, 150,000 air conditioners, 300,000 DVD players and 100,000 digital network products.
