Beijing (ANTARA News) - Visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has invited Asian and European investors to invest in various fields in Indonesia.
"I invite you to invest in various business opportunities in Indonesia," President Yudhoyono told hundreds of Asia and European businessmen at the 11th Asia-Europe Business Forum here on Thursday.
The business forum was organized in conjunction with the 17th Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM) from October 24-25, 2008.
The summit is attended by 43 heads of state/government and the chiefs of two international organizations.
At the business forum, President Yudhoyono was accompanied among others by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS, Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari, Foreign Affairs Minister Hassan Wirayuda, State Minister of Environmental Affairs Rachmat Witoelar, State Minister for State Enterprises Sofyan Djalil, and Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi.
On the occasion President Yudhoyono offered the foreign investors opportunities to invest in energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
He said the Indonesian government had created and would continue to create a conducive business climate for foreign investors in an effort to maintain cooperation with foreign parties.
"We will continue to create a conducive business climate in an effort to attract foreign investors," Yudhoyono said.
He said foreign businessmen should not hesitate to invest in Indonesia because the business climate in the country was safe and conducive for them.
Indonesia, he said, was now one of Asia`s resurgent countries and worthy of becoming a business partner of foreign investors intending to expand their business internationally.
In his 45-minute address, Yudhoyono also cited the progress Indonesia had made in various respects , including in its economy which, he said, had seen significant development.
