Australia to provide $64 mln to help develop Indonesia's infrastructure

JAKARTA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The government of Australia would provide 64 million U.S. dollars in the near future to assist infrastructure development in Indonesia, a release from the Australian embassy said here Thursday. 

Australian ambassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer said that some of the funds was in form of grant and technical assistance aimed at boosting economic growth in Indonesia. 

He said that the funds would be used for projects such as buildings railway, telecommunication facility, transport, power plant, electricity and sanitation facility. 

The Indonesian government has attempted to build a massive-infrastructure to generate solid economic growth. 

Indonesia targets economic growth to 6 percent next year.
