Japan`s Kobelco Machinery to expand Indonesian plant

Tokyo (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - The Kobelco Construction Machinery Co. will relocate and expand its hydraulic shovel factory in Indonesia by October 2008 at a cost of Y500 million ($US4.83 million).

The plant, run by local subsidiary PT Daya Kobelco Construction Machinery Indonesia, will be moved from its current location in the city of Bogor to an industrial park in Bekasi.

Scheduled to begin operating in October, the new facility will be six times the size of the existing factory. Headquarters functions will also be moved from Jakarta to the Bekasi site by October 2009.
