Health minister inaugurates 66 Islamic boarding school health centers

Klaten, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Health Minister dr. Siti Fadilah Supari inaugurated 66 Islamic Boarding School Health Centers (Poskestren) in Central Java province here on Thursday.

Speaking at the inaugural function at the Muhammadiyah Sangkal Putung Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) in Klaten district, Central Java, the minister said Muslims in Indonesia should play greater role in healthcare development and have a greater concern about the environment.

According to her, efforts of developing Indonesia into a great nation, muslims should become components of development.

"Our aim to set up the Poskestren is not only to keep the Islamic Boarding School students healthy, but the Pesantren should also become a center for the development of its surrounding communities," the minister said.

The establishment of the 66 Poskestrens had cost 62 billion rupiah.
