President Yudhoyono to officiate integrated city in W. Sulawesi

Makassar (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to officiate the development of a self-reliant and integrated city in Mamuju district, West Sulawesi, in December this year, West Sulawesi Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh said here last night.

"God`s willing, President Yudhoyono will next month declare the commencement of the self-reliant and integrated city`s infrastructure development in Mamuju with a total fund of Rp2.3 trillion from 2008-2009 state budget," Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh said.

The governor pointed out that the integrated city with education facilities, houses of worship, markets, warehouses, roads, and other supporting facility including people`s forest and plantation would be built on a 350-hectare plot of land in Mamuju, around 630 kilometers north of here.

After declaring the development of the integrated city, President Yudhoyono and his entourage would inspect the infrastructure development of roads and bridges, pier of Belang-Belang Port, and the expansion of Tampapadang airport`s runway.

West Sulawesi province which was separated from South Sulawesi province in 2005 has five districts, namely Mamuju district, Majene district, Polewali Mandar district, Masamba district, and Mamuju Utara district with the total population of 1.2 million.
