Oxiana approves US$310 mln Indonesian gold mine development

Melbourne (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Australian copper and gold miner Oxiana Ltd (ASX:OXR) has approved the $US310 million ($A361.2 million) development of the Martabe gold and silver mine in Indonesia.

Oxiana is expected to initially produce about 200,000 ounces of gold and 200,000 ounces of silver from the project over a nine year life. The company expects that construction of the process plant will start in July 2008 with commissioning of the mine scheduled for December 2009.
