“ … Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013.

They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader ..."

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The government will launch the worldwide interoperability for microwave access (Wi-Max) technology, the Indonesian version. The research and development of this technology has started and it is expected that the prototype will be launched in late 2009.

Information and Communication Minister, Muhammad Nuh, said Wi-Max technology of the Indonesian version will be launched on National Awakening Day on May 20 next year. According to the Director of Standardization and Telecommunication, Azhar Hasyim, the Wi-Max research and development as well as its application has started.

“We continue pushing the research so it is faster, but regarding the plan's prototype, it will be out in the end of 2009,” said Azhar in Jakarta some time ago. The research program is divided into subgroups: chipset, Rf modul, terminal, antenna and OSS driver based on an open source.

The research involves several institutions, state universities and industries including the National Institute of Sciences (LIPI), the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), PT LEN, PT Inti, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), University of Indonesia, Hariff and Quassar with the program manager from the Post and Telecommunication Directorate General.

Azhar explained that the assessment device was provided by the Post and Telecommunication Directorate General. As regards purchasing the measurement device and equipment worth Rp3.75 billion, it is being carried out through a tender. “Already 10 companies are ready to join the tender,” he said.
