“ … Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013.

They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader ..."

Indonesia Power set to reopen coal tender

The Jakarta Post

JAKARTA: Pelabuhan Ratu, West Java: A subsidiary of state-owned electricity utility PLN, PT Indonesia Power (IP), said Monday that it planned to reopen the tender in October for the procurement of 2.5 million tons of coal to feed its 3,400-megawatt (MW) Suralaya power plant in West Java.

The previous tender in June failed as it proved impossible to reach a deal on pricing, with the suppliers holding out for higher prices.

IP director for production Ahmad Sadikin said that it was most likely that the price would exceed Rp 400,000 (US$43.47) per ton following the sharp increase in coal prices on the global market.

IP had set a price ceiling of Rp 350,000 per ton of coal.

IP needs 14 million tons of coal in 2008, of which 6 million tons will be supplied by PT Bukit Asam Batubara and 2.5 million tons by the winner of the tender, with the remainder to be secured on the open market.

IP also gets coal supplies from PT Kideco and Berau Coal.
