Kalbe Farma investing in Singapore

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The pharmaceutical company PT Kalbe Farma (KLBF) has acquired 100 percent of Singapore-based pharmaceutical firm Kalbe International Pte. Ltd (KI), a spokesman has said.

"PT Kalbe Farma has made an investment in Kalbe International to expand its business operations overseas," KLBF director Herman Widjaja told the Jakarta Stock Exchange here Monday.

Herman, however, did not disclose the acquisition value when KLBF bought KI on June 11, 2007.

The company has over 10 subsidiaries, which are engaged in the pharmaceutical, health food, packaging and financial sectors. It has two production facilities in Bekasi, West Java
