S. Korea`s Saman to invest US$1 bln in Indonesian port, railway

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - South Korea's Saman Corp. says it plans to invest around US$1 billion in the construction of a dry port terminal and railway track in Indonesia.

"The dry port, which will serve as a container terminal, will be built in the Jababeka industrial estate in Bekasi, and will be linked to Jakarta's Tanjung Priok via railway," said company representative Kim Hyo Tae.

The integrated project is now undergoing a feasibility study, while a license is being sought for a joint venture company to be set up with operator of the Jababeka Industrial Estate.
