Indonesia`s Sumi Asih to export biodiesel to U.S

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - PT Sumi Asih Oleo Chemical said it hopes to export 100,000 tons of biodiesel a year to the United States starting next month.

Company President Alexius Darmadi said his company has signed a sales contract with a buyer in Houston. Darmadi said Sumi Asih started producing biodiesel only in March last year with a monthly capacity of 3,000 tons using crude palm oil feedstock produced by the company.

He said the company is building a new production facility with a monthly production capacity of 5,200 tons, bringing its total capacity to 8,200 tons a month or 100,000 tons a year.
